Tottenham host Chelsea in a London derby that rarely disappoints. The sides are separated by only a few points but a long stretch of history. Spurs have started the season brightly, while Chelsea continue to mix dominant wins with frustrating slip-ups. Form and confidence point towards an even contest, but recent history between these two tells a very different story.
Tottenham have won five of their nine Premier League matches this season, already matching their entire win total under Ange Postecoglou from last campaign. Thomas Frank’s side have rediscovered structure and efficiency, particularly from set pieces. Five of their 17 league goals have come via headers, their highest ratio since 1998–99.
Despite their solid start, Spurs’ record against Chelsea is grim. They have won just one of their last 13 Premier League meetings (D2 L10) and have lost the last four in a row. At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Chelsea have claimed victory in five of their six visits, more than any other away side.
Chelsea’s own season has been inconsistent. They have lost three of their last five Premier League matches, a rare early-season wobble. The Blues have, however, looked dangerous on the road recently, winning four of their last seven away games. Their two away victories this season came in emphatic style — 5–1 at West Ham and 3–0 at Nottingham Forest.
Excluding own goals, each of Chelsea’s last 101 Premier League goals has been scored by players under 30, underlining the youthful nature of their current attack. Brandon Thomas-Asante and Haji Wright continue to lead the scoring charts, but Micky van de Ven remains a quiet hero for Spurs, with the club averaging 1.7 points per game when he plays compared to just 1.11 without him.

Scoreline: Tottenham Hotspur 1–1 Chelsea
Confidence: ⭐⭐⭐ (Medium)
Chelsea’s dominance in this fixture cannot be ignored, but Tottenham’s improved balance and home momentum should be enough to earn a point. Expect a competitive, tactical match rather than an open shootout
